Colombia Tolima Nouveau- Dark Chocolate & Vanilla
Taste: Crisp, green apple acidity owing to the very high altitudes of production. Mild sweetness, slightly diminished from the full-medium roast but still sufficiently retained for good balance
Aromas: As a full-medium coffee, much of the aroma comes from gentle maillard reaction development. This is very much a classic full-medium coffee, with loads of dark chocolate or chocolate malt aroma and a rich medium-toast profile with a subtle vanilla character
Body: Smooth, full and round
Source of coffee beans:
Planadas, Tolima, Colombia
This coffee is harvested on several small family farms near the municipality of Planadas, a remote yet bustling town in Colombia's central Andes. The coffee farmers of Planadas have a mission: to build peace in a former conflict zone by selling high-quality coffee to build economic prosperity. They are truly on top of their game when it comes to sustainable farming. They are one of only a handful of coffee farming groups around the world using cutting-edge techniques to build their own natural, complex fertilizers on-farm.
